Automation Pro is a separate add-on. Keep the Free plugin active, install the Pro ZIP, and activate your Freemius license. Pro never automatically deletes media; scheduled media scans remain report-only.
Cleanup should be deliberate.
Scans are read-only. Content moved to Trash can usually be restored until Trash is emptied. Permanent content and media deletion require a backup to recover. Candidate media is not a guarantee that an image is unused, so review questionable images before deleting them.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Know what happens before you clean.
Does a scan change my site?
No. Scans are read-only. You choose the cleanup action afterward.
Is Candidate the same as unused?
No. It means the checks did not establish a protected use. Inspect the image and any places your site may use it before deleting.
Will deleting old posts improve rankings?
There is no ranking or speed guarantee. Keep content that still helps visitors, and consider updating or redirecting useful public URLs instead of deleting them.
What do I need?
WordPress 6.2 or later, PHP 7.4 or later, and an administrator account. WooCommerce is not required.
