REGRESSION CHECKS

How to tell if a WooCommerce update broke product discovery.

A theme, SEO plugin, cache rule, catalog import, permalink change or WooCommerce update can alter public product output without making the storefront obviously look broken.

Check what changed, not just whether the page still loads.

  • Did robots.txt rules change?
  • Did a sitemap stop listing products?
  • Did canonical URLs change?
  • Did a product begin redirecting somewhere unexpected?
  • Did Product JSON-LD disappear or become duplicated?
  • Did price, availability, brand or identifier fields disappear from the machine-readable output?
  • Did a security or cache layer start serving a challenge page to automated requests?

Use before-and-after scan history

One scan tells you the current state. History tells you what deteriorated. That distinction matters because a long-standing warning is different from a new regression introduced by yesterday’s update.

Verify one representative product publicly

After an update, test at least one important public product from outside the admin area. Check the final URL, canonical, indexability and Product structured data. Then confirm the store-level sitemap and crawler-access checks still pass.

Catch regressions before they become mysteries.

Store Discovery Audit Pro adds automatic daily scans, full history and regression monitoring so a new failure is easier to separate from an old warning.
