WOOCOMMERCE AI DISCOVERY
What can AI crawlers actually see on your WooCommerce store?
GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, Claude-related crawlers, PerplexityBot, Applebot and Google systems do not all behave the same way. Start by separating access from discovery and discovery from inclusion.
Access is only the first question.
A crawler can be allowed by robots.txt and still never request a product page. A product can be crawled and still not appear in an AI answer. Treat these as separate stages: allowed to visit → able to discover → able to understand → chosen for inclusion.
Check the real blockers first
- WordPress search visibility is not blocking indexing.
- robots.txt does not unintentionally block the crawler you care about.
- Your sitemap exposes current product URLs.
- Product pages return a usable public response and are not trapped behind login, challenge pages, or broken redirects.
- Canonical URLs point to the intended product pages.
- Product data and Product structured data agree with what shoppers can actually buy.
Do not treat a green access check as a ranking promise
Technical access means the store is not obviously blocking that path. It does not prove that a provider will crawl the page, use the data, cite the store, recommend a product, or send traffic.
Check the store instead of guessing.
Wizehawk Store Discovery Audit checks crawler access, discovery paths, product readiness, structured data and recognized AI activity from inside WooCommerce.
