WizeHawk Mail Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how WizeHawk Mail, a Windows desktop email application provided by WizeHawk (“we,” “us”), handles information when you use the application. It applies to WizeHawk Mail, not to every product available on wizehawk.com.

Information the application accesses

When you connect an email account, WizeHawk Mail accesses information required to provide email functionality: your email address and account configuration; mailbox folders; message headers, sender and recipient addresses, subjects, message bodies, attachments, draft and sent messages, and message statuses. Contact information that you enter or import into the address book is also processed by the application.

How your information is used

The application uses this information to retrieve and display messages, send mail, save drafts and sent copies where supported, manage folders and message status, show notifications, search cached messages, and maintain account-specific contacts. WizeHawk Mail is an email client: it connects to the mail providers you choose rather than operating your email mailbox as a hosting provider.

Google account access

If you choose “Sign in with Google,” Google asks you to authorize access to your Gmail account. WizeHawk Mail requests the Gmail permissions necessary to read, compose, send, organize and delete messages through its IMAP/SMTP features. You can revoke access through your Google account security settings. We use Google user data only to provide the email functionality you request and do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. WizeHawk Mail’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Local storage and security

WizeHawk Mail stores application settings, account information, contacts and cached email data locally on your Windows computer to help the app work efficiently. Authentication tokens are intended to be protected using Windows local-user encryption facilities. Cached messages, downloaded attachments and data retained in backups may remain accessible on your device according to your Windows account permissions and security settings. Protect your Windows sign-in, lock your computer when unattended, and use full-disk encryption where available.

Who receives your data

Emails you send and receive are processed by the email providers and recipients involved. Authentication with Google is handled through Google’s authorization service. We do not operate an independent cloud service that routinely receives the contents of your mailbox merely because you use the desktop client. We may receive information you voluntarily provide when contacting WizeHawk support, such as your email address, bug descriptions and diagnostic materials you choose to submit. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or sensitive email contents in support requests.

Retention and deletion

Your email provider controls server-stored messages under its own policies. WizeHawk Mail can retain local cache data, account settings and contacts until removed through application features or deletion of the app’s local data. Removing the application does not necessarily delete email from your provider, nor does removing a message on one device guarantee it disappears from other devices, especially devices using POP3. Deleting messages through the application can affect messages on the server; permanent deletion may not be reversible.

External content

Some emails include images hosted on third-party websites. Loading remote images may disclose your IP address and other connection information to the image host. The application provides image-loading controls; exercise caution with untrusted messages and attachments.

Children

WizeHawk Mail is a general-purpose email client and is not specifically designed for children. Your email provider may impose its own age requirements.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy as WizeHawk Mail develops, including when new online services or data handling features are introduced. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
