How to Create a Weekly Menu for a Home Bakery

A weekly menu can make a home bakery easier to run because customers know exactly what is available, when orders close, and when pickup happens. The key is to keep the menu focused enough for production while still giving customers a reason to come back each week.

1. Start with a manageable number of products

Choose a core group of reliable products first. That might be two breads, two cookie flavors, one pastry, and one seasonal special. A smaller menu is usually easier to produce consistently than a long list of items that changes constantly.

Your weekly menu should reflect what you can realistically bake, package, and hand over during the time you have available.

  • Keep proven best sellers in rotation.
  • Add one or two seasonal or limited items.
  • Avoid adding products only because they look good on social media if they complicate production.

2. Decide the order window before you publish

Pick a clear opening date and order cutoff. For example, you might publish on Monday, close orders Thursday evening, bake Friday, and offer pickup Saturday morning.

Customers are much less likely to ask repeated questions when the cutoff and pickup details are visible beside the menu.

3. Make every item easy to understand

Each item should have a clear name, short description, price, and any information customers genuinely need. If sizes or quantities vary, make that obvious.

A customer should be able to scan the page quickly without opening several social posts or sending you a message just to understand the basics.

4. Use one permanent place for the current menu

Social media is excellent for attracting attention, but posts quickly get buried. Your website can be the permanent place customers check for the current menu.

Share the menu on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or local groups, then send people to one current page rather than rewriting the same details in every post.

5. Save products so next week is faster

The biggest time saver is not recreating every product every week. Keep your regular products saved, then assemble each new weekly menu from those existing items.

That also makes it easier to bring back seasonal favorites without searching through old posts.

Keep the weekly workflow simple

If your products or menu change every week, the goal is to make updates predictable for you and easy to understand for customers. Wizehawk Weekly Menu Manager is built for micro bakeries, home bakers, meal-prep businesses, cottage food sellers, and other small food businesses that work this way.
