What Weekly Menu Manager does
Weekly Menu Manager is a WordPress plugin for home bakers, micro bakeries, cookie businesses, meal-prep businesses, cottage food sellers, caterers, farmers market vendors, and other small food businesses that sell changing menus. It keeps reusable menu items organized, lets the seller build weekly menus, schedules when menus appear, and supports both direct/contact ordering and WooCommerce ordering.
The standard workflow is Categories → Menu Items → Weekly Menus → Publish. A seller can prepare future menus in advance and let the correct menu appear when its schedule becomes active.
Where to find Weekly Menu Manager settings
In the WordPress admin menu, open Weekly Menus. The plugin’s main admin areas are:
- Dashboard — setup progress and the guided four-step starting point.
- Weekly Menus — create and manage the menus shown for specific date ranges.
- Menu Items — create and manage reusable food/menu items.
- Categories — organize menu items into categories and subcategories.
- Ordering Settings — choose Contact / In-Person or WooCommerce ordering and configure ordering-related options, including pickup scheduling when enabled.
- Display Settings — control the customer-facing menu layout and which details are shown.
Install Weekly Menu Manager and publish your menu page
Checked against Weekly Menu Manager 1.29.17. Requires WordPress 6.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. WooCommerce is optional for contact ordering and required for cart, checkout, and pickup scheduling.
When the official download is available, install and activate it through Plugins → Add New Plugin. For a supplied ZIP, use Upload Plugin. Back up before updating an existing installation. Open Weekly Menus → Dashboard and follow the setup checklist.
Use the Dashboard to create or reuse the menu page. To display the menu on an existing page, add a Shortcode block containing [wizehawk_weekly_menu], then publish the page. The plugin recognizes an existing menu page; check it before creating duplicates.
The current public build offers Contact / In-Person and WooCommerce ordering. External Order Link is not a supported release mode. Freemius analytics opt-in can be skipped for Free use; the current build does not add a separate Account submenu.
First-time setup
- Create categories. Organize products into useful groups such as Breads, Cookies, Cupcakes, Meals, Drinks, Seasonal Items, or any categories that fit the business. Categories and subcategories are supported.
- Add reusable menu items. Enter the item name, description, price, image, quantity details, and ordering information that should be reused from week to week.
- Build a weekly menu. Select the items offered for that week, organize them into the desired categories, and set the menu dates/schedule.
- Choose the ordering method. Use contact/in-person ordering when customers will call, text, DM, email, or order directly, or use WooCommerce when customers should add items to cart and check out online.
- Publish the menu. Use the plugin’s menu page/display options so customers can see the active menu. The menu can use Cards or Compact layout, one or two columns, and configurable display details.
Categories and subcategories
Categories are used to keep menu items organized and to make the customer-facing menu easier to scan. Create the broad categories first, then add subcategories only where they make the menu clearer. Avoid creating deep category trees unless they genuinely help customers find items.
Category slugs are generated automatically. If an item appears in the wrong place, verify the item’s assigned category before changing the display layout.
Menu items
Menu items are reusable. A seller should create an item once, then reuse it on future weekly menus instead of rebuilding it every week. Keep the permanent information with the item and use the weekly menu to control when that item is offered.
Typical item information includes the product name, description, price, image, ordering details, and quantity-related information. If WooCommerce is enabled, menu items can be connected with WooCommerce products so online ordering uses the store’s normal cart and checkout flow.
Weekly menus and scheduling
A weekly menu is the collection of items being offered for a specific period. Build upcoming menus ahead of time, assign the correct dates, and let the active schedule control which menu customers see.
If a customer says the wrong menu is showing, first check the menu’s active dates and schedule. Also verify that the menu was published and that the expected page is displaying the plugin output.
Customer-facing menu display
Weekly Menu Manager supports Cards and Compact display styles, one- or two-column layouts, and controls for which menu details customers see. Depending on the configuration, the seller can show or hide details such as titles, dates, deadlines, images, categories, descriptions, quantities, and other menu information.
When troubleshooting display problems, first verify the active menu and the display settings before assuming the theme or WooCommerce is at fault.
Ordering modes
Contact / Call to Order
This mode is for businesses that take orders by phone, text, email, social media, DM, or in person. The Call to Order button is designed for mobile use. The seller can configure the phone number and the hours when calling is available. The customer can still view the menu without using WooCommerce checkout.
WooCommerce ordering
This mode uses WooCommerce for the cart, checkout, payment method, tax calculation, and order record. Weekly Menu Manager can import WooCommerce products and supports synchronization between the plugin and WooCommerce. If product information is not matching correctly, verify the product mapping before changing product data.
Taxes are handled by WooCommerce tax settings. Weekly Menu Manager does not replace WooCommerce tax rules.
Importing and syncing WooCommerce products
- Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.
- Use the plugin’s WooCommerce import/sync tools to bring existing store products into Weekly Menu Manager when needed.
- Use Import All Products when the goal is to bring the current WooCommerce catalog into the plugin.
- After import, confirm that each menu item is linked to the correct WooCommerce product before accepting live orders.
- If a product looks duplicated or mapped incorrectly, do not create another product immediately. Check the existing mapping first.
Pickup scheduling
Weekly Menu Manager supports pickup date and time scheduling. The merchant controls the days pickup is available and the time slots customers can choose. When pickup scheduling is enabled with WooCommerce, the customer chooses a pickup date and then a pickup time as part of checkout.
How to configure pickup days and times
- In WordPress admin, open Weekly Menus → Ordering Settings. In the pickup scheduling section, enable the pickup days customers can use and configure the available pickup times for each enabled day.
- Enable the days of the week on which customers are allowed to pick up orders.
- For each enabled day, configure the available pickup times or time slots.
- Save the pickup settings.
- Place a test order and verify that checkout shows the expected pickup date choices first and the appropriate time choices second.
The plugin keeps pickup date and pickup time as separate customer choices. A time should only be available when it is valid for the selected pickup day.
Pickup capacity
Pickup slots can have capacity limits. Once a slot reaches its capacity, that full slot is hidden so another customer cannot choose it. If an order is cancelled, the slot used by that order is returned to availability.
The Free version includes basic pickup date and time scheduling. If you are using the Free version and need advanced pickup controls such as custom pickup-slot lengths, notice or lead-time rules, booking-window controls, or slot-capacity limits, upgrade to Pro.
Order management
Weekly Menu Manager Pro adds the pickup-management workflow for WooCommerce orders. Staff can mark orders Ready, mark them Completed, or Cancel Order when needed. Cancelling an order returns its reserved pickup slot so the capacity can be used again.
For Pay on Pickup orders, the interface should not misleadingly present the order as already paid. WooCommerce remains the source of truth for the order itself and its payment information.
Production planning
Weekly Menu Manager Pro can summarize production totals by item and pickup date and provide a printable kitchen production sheet. This is intended to help a bakery or food business turn confirmed weekly orders into a practical production plan.

Common support checks
A pickup day or time is missing
Verify that the day is enabled, the expected time is configured for that day, the settings were saved, and the slot has not reached capacity. Also confirm the customer selected the correct pickup date before checking available times.
A pickup slot is full
A full slot should be hidden from customers. If an order using that slot is cancelled, its capacity should become available again. If this does not happen, treat it as a possible bug and collect the plugin version, WooCommerce version, exact steps, and affected order information before escalating.
The wrong WooCommerce product is connected
Check the menu item’s WooCommerce mapping before creating or importing another product. Product mapping problems should be corrected at the connection level rather than by creating duplicates.
The wrong menu is displaying
Check the weekly menu’s dates, schedule, published state, and the page/display configuration. A scheduled menu can only appear as expected when its active period and published output are both correct.
Checkout is not showing pickup choices
Confirm that WooCommerce ordering is being used, pickup scheduling is enabled, at least one pickup day and valid time are configured, and the checkout is using the expected Weekly Menu Manager / WooCommerce flow.
What support can safely answer
Routine support can answer documented questions about setup, categories, menu items, weekly menus, display options, contact ordering, WooCommerce integration, product import/sync, pickup days and time slots, pickup capacity, order status, production planning, and the documented Free/Pro differences on this page.
When support must escalate
- Refunds, chargebacks, billing disputes, or requests for exceptions to published policy.
- Legal threats, privacy requests, security incidents, vulnerability reports, or possible data loss.
- A customer reports a bug that cannot be reproduced or verified from current documentation.
- The answer would require promising a feature, release date, fix date, compatibility, or behavior that is not documented.
- The customer provides an attachment or screenshot that the support system cannot currently inspect.
- The exact setting, button, field name, or procedure is not documented here and guessing could mislead the customer.
Information to collect before escalating a technical issue
- Weekly Menu Manager version
- WordPress version
- WooCommerce version, when WooCommerce is involved
- Free or Pro version
- What the customer expected to happen
- What actually happened
- Exact steps that reproduce the issue
- Relevant order/product/menu identifiers when safe to share
Support accuracy rule
If this guide does not support a product-specific statement, do not make that statement as fact. Ask a short clarifying question when that will solve an ordinary support request. Otherwise escalate the ticket. It is better to escalate one legitimate edge case than to confidently send a customer a made-up instruction.
